Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

TwoHomes ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of families who use our service. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We will never sell your data or use it for advertising.

TwoHomes is a tool for co-parenting coordination. The information you share here — custody schedules, messages, expenses — is sensitive. We treat it that way.

1. What we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your display name, username, and optionally your email address (used only for password recovery and service notifications).

Custody and family data

You provide the custody schedule, parenting plan details, names and birth dates of children, co-parent information, and family case details. This is the core data needed to operate the calendar.

Messages and communication

Messages sent through TwoHomes are stored on our servers. They are intentionally immutable — they cannot be edited or deleted after sending. This is a feature, not a limitation: it is what makes them court-admissible records.

Expenses and ledger entries

Financial entries, expense logs, custody deviations, and swap requests are stored with timestamps.

GPS check-in data

When you confirm an exchange check-in using the GPS feature, we store the approximate location and timestamp of that confirmation. This data is associated with the specific exchange event.

Uploaded documents

Files you upload (parenting decrees, school records, medical documents) are stored encrypted on our servers and accessible only to members of your family account and any attorneys you explicitly invite.

Usage and technical data

We collect standard server logs (IP addresses, request paths, timestamps) for security and abuse prevention. We do not use third-party analytics trackers.

2. How we use your data

We use your data exclusively to provide the TwoHomes service:

We will never use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties — including data brokers, insurance companies, or legal research firms.

3. Child data and COPPA

TwoHomes may store the names, nicknames, and birth dates of minor children as entered by a parent or guardian. We do not collect data directly from children. Child accounts (if created) are provisioned by a parent or guardian and display only age-appropriate calendar and appointment information. No financial data, message history, or legal information is visible to child accounts.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us at privacy@greenl.ink.

4. Data sharing

We share data only in these limited circumstances:

5. Data retention

Your family account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained for 90 days before being permanently deleted, giving you time to export your records. You may request immediate deletion at any time by contacting privacy@greenl.ink.

Message records and check-in logs are append-only and cannot be selectively deleted while the account is active, as they form the court-admissible record of co-parenting activity. Upon account deletion, all records are purged.

6. Data portability and export

You can export your complete family record at any time — calendar events, messages, ledger entries, and expenses — via Settings → Export in the app, or via /api/export. Exports are provided in JSON format. Court-ready PDF reports can be generated from Settings → Court Report.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security practices: bcrypt password hashing, HTTPS in production, HttpOnly session cookies, and encrypted database storage. See our Security Overview for details.

8. Breach notification

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify affected users by email within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, to the extent we have email addresses on file. We will also post a notice at greenl.ink/security.

9. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can update your display name and email address in Settings → Account. To request full deletion or a data export, contact privacy@greenl.ink.

10. Contact

11. Changes to this policy

We will notify users by email (if on file) before making material changes to this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
